Over 120 students arrive to Athens for prestigious management school

Athens, GA — Southeastern Regional Credit Union Schools (SRCUS) welcomes more than 120 credit union professionals this week for focused education and bonding at the 2023 Southeast CUNA Management School June 18-23 in Athens, GA.

For more than 50 years, the program brings students together for training and experiential opportunities that foster professional and personal growth, challenging each participant to achieve their highest potential while preparing them for their desired next steps in leadership.

“We are excited to welcome both first-year students and returning students to this year’s SRCUS program,” said Brittani Champlin, executive director of SRCUS and director of professional development for the Carolinas Credit Union League. “We look forward to cultivating the next set of credit union leaders as this school has done for over five decades.”

Prior to the start of in-person courses at the University of Georgia’s Center for Continuing Education, students took part in self-paced learning activities that put them in good position for the hearty curriculum ahead.

In-person courses, led by well-respected and knowledgeable faculty, range from financial ratios to project management to business writing to advanced marketing, and more, and are structured to build on one another as students make their way through the three-year program.

The curriculum, coupled with team-building activities like debate and this year’s ropes course, truly offer participants a well-rounded experience that they carry with them long after graduation.

“I made lasting connections that have provided so much to me throughout my career,” shared SC National Guard FCU President Travis Hall in a recent SRCUS alumni interview. “I learned a lot about credit unions and the industry, but I also learned a lot about myself…If you have the opportunity to attend, you should take it.”

Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a graduation diploma issued in collaboration with the University of Georgia. Graduation from the Southeast CUNA Management School is recognized throughout the credit union industry as a prestigious mark of achievement.
